Has any one upgraded from the Cometa 22 to the R9.
How do they compare: Grouping, effectivness on pigeons to about 30 mts. Pellet preference? the Cometa is critical.
How does the R9 compare to the R1.

I bought a Cometa .22 for a cheaper alternative rifle. Had to send the first one back as it just would not group. The next one was slightly better but I wasn't impressed. I ended up trading it on a R9 in .20 and had it kitted. The R9 was easily worth the extra money. Accurate, powerful and a great looking rifle. Extra smooth with a kit. I used tha R9 for shooting rats and rabbits with no worries. The reality with airguns is you get what you pay for. All my rifles are either Beeman or Weihrauch now. Hw80 .22, R7 .177, Hw97 .20 and HW100 .22. I sold the R9 for some reason, and now regret it. Depending on what you want it for, the HW97 is well worth considering. R9 is lighter and easier to handle than R1, but R1 is a fine hunter. Depends what you want to do.
