Re: Timberrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Quite happy with the green- did my other stock the same pattern the other week and it looks good. I put alot more prep into this stock though- all that light blue is spray putty. Did heaps of coats of it, wet sanding in between to get it smooth. Tomorrow the stock will get a couple of coats of clear, then a black spotty "overspray" pattern, and a few more coats of clear before curing for a few days, having the action bedded, then curing for a fortnight while Im away on holidays.

Re: Timberrrrrrrrrrrrrr
G'day All,
Looking great Brad.
I hope you've allowed for paint thickness on the forend. I've seen several superbly painted SR BR rifles attacked with a rasp to get under 3" wideth.
Also I have a photo of a very well known gunsmith using my bow saw sawing off the butt end of his stock to reduce weight in a BR match......twice, didn't take enough off the first time!
Cheerio Ned

Gday Ned
Yes the wood was machined so I can make width regulations. If not, I will sand and paint it again which Ive done before!

Re: Timberrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Bedding went well, aside from a couple of spots where it lifted some paint on the edge of the stock around the action. Will have to bog, sand and re spray a couple of tiny spots. Now theres 3 barrels to be chambered and the ever fun WA licensing system to negotiate. Since I had a spare 6mm barrel Ive also asked for a 6BR barrel to be chambered as well. So there will be 2 barrels for 284 shehane and one for 6BR. Aquired some polished BAT scope rings for the nightforce 15-55 competition scope and its just about all set. Should be shooting it after I return from Thailand and Singapore in a fortnight.
