Leave it and see if it grows on you , looks like you've got the gear to rectify it later .

Yeah I can do, I like having more timber there so it doesnt get flexxy. Its definitely growing on me and when its all final sanded and painted will look pretty good.

Bit more done.

Today I went and grabbed the recoil pad and some 3mm plate ally to make up the butt pad setup. Lots of grinding and drawfiling to get it nice and smooth ready for some wet and dry treatment and buffing once the stock is complete.

Looking good.

Soooooo, have you got a date for it to be finished by, or is this just a slow and steady build mate?

Tex.

Its as slow and steady as pierce engineering are going mate. My action isnt far from being done hopefully. The importers have queried when they can expect the next order so hopefully its not long. Until the barrels get fitted to the action, then the bedding done, then painting the stock, its pretty much at a stand still now.

If its not all done soon then I wont get a chance to have it ready for the WARA Queens in September, but it will be what it will be I guess...

Still waiting for the action... apparently the next shipment are ready to send so its just a matter of when they get here. In the mean time Ive started hydraulic case forming in my new whidden 284 shehane hydraulic case forming die. Results have been impressive, cases are 4 thou shorter than multiple fired shehane cases and only 1 thou less in diameter at the shoulder. The process seems to take about the same time as fireforming by the time you count loading time, range time etc. But the process isnt quite as clean. Once finished I found out the hard way (stupid way) that you need to give the die and press a good spray of WD40 or CRC to stop it rusting.

First coat of primer putty just starting to go on. Im painting it myself now instead of hydro dipping as Im on a mission to try get it done before the WA queens at the end of sept. Action has landed and is on its way to my gunsmith who has the two barrels sitting ready to chamber. Should have the bedding and final inletting done by the weekend so I can finish painting the stock over the weekend. Hoping the gunsmith will bring it to the rifle range next weekend so I can run the barrels in and do some OCW testing.
