Taking up photoshopping
The Annie's on hold for the moment So I have decided to take up photoshopping rabbits and foxes
I picked up the new S#^t Savage 93 bvss 17 hmr earlier than planned!
Scope is a Duralyt 3x12 x 50
Taking it up the bush this weekend to sight in and hopefully knock over a few bunnies and lamb munchers
Cheers Mark

Re: Taking up photoshopping
Sighted in the .17 on the weekend
More than happy with its accuracy for a "cheapie"
Took 3 shots to get it on the bull at 50m then moved it out to 100m
10 shot group below
In the rain with a gusty crosswind of a bipod it's ok [attachment=0]image.jpg[/attachment
Unfortunately the weather sat night was not kind.... no foxes or bunnies were seen
We did knock over a few long range bunnies sat afternoon with the 22-250 and 223
Cheers Mark

Good stuff. Looks like it should be able to earn it's keep. What brand ammo were you using?

Yes Big G It's over scoped to the buggery ..scope cost nearly twice as much as the rifle ...but it was spare so it will live there until my I get my Sambar gunbig G wrote:Good shit.

It's a nice gun to shoot ..first time in a long while I can see the bullets hit the paper
With the heavy varmint barrel theres no recoil at all

Re: Taking up photoshopping
While not as nice as Sako's group, this is from my new Ruger Predator .223 on the same day/same conditions (howling wind left to right).
I called a flier on one shot....that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Well, the wind was quite variable....so if you want to claim the calm wind, I'll claim the gusty wind (it'll make my group look better)Sako 22-250 wrote:Raven I think I timed my sight in in the wind quiet spell

Re: Taking up photoshopping
Had a shot with it myself. Very impressive, I've never shot a 17HMR before and it definitely has the punch that a 22LR doesn't. I wouldn't call it a cheapy, I'd call it excellent value (love the stock, stainless, and that scope).LoneRider wrote:looks pretty respectable.....for a cheepieSako 22-250 wrote:Sighted in the .17 on the weekend

Re: Taking up photoshopping
It's a keeper christened it on 2 bunnies last night
Got one of those calls.. Foxes taking lambs of a friends property ( it's on the outskirts of Melbourne) they only wanted rimfires used so it would not upset a green neighbour
Unfortunately no foxes seen but on the way back picked up 2 bunnies second one was a head shot at about 100m rabbit was sitting behind a log and only its head was visible....
