7mm Rem Mag Self Built

My new bang stick. Smithed it myself and carved the stock out of a chunk of walnut I bought at a deceased estate auction. Build list: Nesika Hunter action with 20 moa stainless rail, Jewel trigger set at 2 pound, 25 inch 8.5 twist Maddco #5 stainless barrel and Wyatt bottom metal with detachable mag. Shaped the stock and did the inlet myself. 162 grain Hornady A - Max at 2820 fps. Grouped 2 inches at 500 yards. Am happy with how it all turned out. Please excuse my bad photography skills.

Proof is in the pudding and certainly sounds like a winner! Bet it's satisfying building a tack driver like that!

Thanks mate. Took my time with it being my first self build. I have other custom rifles but having made this one it feels so much different. I will be so chuffed when I finally get to use it to harvest some meat for the freezer. Finished the load testing with the A-Max today and have some Bergers to try as well so still a little load development left. I am very happy with how it turned out.

Well for your first attempt I reckon you should start with an old Omark and a take off rem sps barrel incase you stuff it up and then when you learn about your capabilities move up on the component quality

Fark that, gutsy effort going with top line bits and WELl AND TRULY worth it
