She thinks it would look better blued rather than stainless, and she's never been a fan of laminated stocks (particularly the Predator's mountain green). :roll:

I'm also banned from receiving any further 'presents' until the end of the year. :(

but but but you need a scope for the new rifle :lol:
I did the logical thing and bought the scope and ammo first, then I went for the big ticket item. There's a method to my madness.

"But what's the point of the scope and all that ammo if you don't have a rifle for it...." :wink: :wink:

Range time tomorrow to sight it in and run it in slowly. I'll take pics then.

Million dollar question on running in, how many shots between barrel cleans? Be interested to hear opinions, but make it fast...

My aim is;
Use a good copper solvent , clean after every shot until there's little or no copper fouling then try five shots then clean. Use the amount of copper coming out as a guide.

This one is a real contentious issue, I am very methodical in my approach to this. What I do is give it a good clean, then sight it in/test loads when I get home I clean it again.

Next time I take it out and shoot it again I give it another clean when I get home again, repeat :shock:

Clean it before shooting it.
Fire one shot and clean.

Sight it in cleaning every 3 shoots.

Once its shot in good shoot fluffy stuff!

Why?????

You run in a custom barrel and they have a lot better finish than a factory barrel.

A factory barrel has a rough finish in the bore which will grab more copper.
That is why I said 3 shot groups and clean. It would take a long time to shoot 1 clean 1.
