All good mate, can be confusing when two differing disciplines talk about the same target - but different scoring is applied.

went to the range today to sort out these sights.
hopefully i have it right now, counted the clicks to each distance so i will have elevation right.
only problem is...im out of powder and wont be shooting the 600yrd tomorrow.

shit happens ay...at least when i get some,i shouldnt be wasting them trying to find range.

did the 800 today.
after a turn on the butts i set up and got ready.
dialed in the central sight for 800.added 1.5min right wind.
let the first one go...got a 4.
added another 2 clicks right wind...got a 4 out the other side.
scrubs them 2.
next shot...bloody 2,
then a 3,
then 5 followed by 6,6,6,5,
then it all went to shit......
typical day on the paddock,no two flags going the same way.
after watching them and adjusting accordingly [and not doing any good]
i gave up and the wind flags and watched the mirage and the red butts flag.
still didnt do any good.
but i did finish with a 70.3.
so my sights are now set,and all i have to do is read the wind/mirage properly.
300yrds next week.hopefully i will get a really good score to boast about.
even at 300 a good score IS a good score regardless

I shot 700 yards on Saturday, we have had a nice run of fairly light wind but the mirage was hard to read at times and show's that reading that tells you more than the flags as the flags weren't doing anything. Scored a 55 first stage, and a 57 second, funny thing was I was a whole turn of elevation out for my first sighter so that stuffed my first scorer first stage only a 4 which for an f classer is a Magpie.
Lonerider did they actually score you a 6 or a V cause being a TR shooter they shouldn't be scoring 6's as that is your super bull.????

Seems a bit confusing to me with the scoring system in use there, assuming a ten scoring shot series, the Target Rifle shooter has a highest possible score of 50.10,that is 5 points for a bullseye and .1 for a V bull.

For a F/Class shooter the highest possible score is 60.10,a bullseye is still 5 points, but the V is scored as 6 and there should be a smaller ring inside the 6/V ring, this ring is the X ring.

So in TR when adding up the total 5 points for bullseyes,5 for V bulls and each V is .1 after the total points scored.

F/Class is 6 for the 6 and X ring and the X's added after the total points.

If you search for the NRAA site you should find the rules and target dimensions.

yea flash your right,i just confuse myself when i score, because i do the butts .
when we do our first range,we score for the next shooter.
theres not many TR shooters at the club so the next shooter will have a scope on.
i could also be mistaken with what i posted as shots,i will have to have another look at the score sheet.

300yrds today.
didnt do as well as i had hoped for.
after a score correction it was 82.4.

seems the young blokes scoring, last week and this [new shooters both]
were scoring 6's,which we dont have in TR.
todays score was marked as 82.1 until i queried it.
no idea about last week, the score sheet wasnt available.

next week,900yrds.
we'll see.....
