Hi guys,

I'm after some first hand comments on a forster co-ax press. Anyone here use one?

I've got one, I upgraded from an old Lee challenger press, generally very happy with it.

I upgraded to the short ball handle, which made it a little more comfortable when using it for lots of rounds, by no means was this essential though.

The only thing I think they need to improve on is changing between the large and small shell holders, its a PITA with the little springs often flying off in all directions.

I've not got into measuring concentricy yet so can't comment on that, but I can imagine the floating design helps.

I bought mine from sinclairs when the $AUD was much stronger. But I would still buy one at todays prices.

Waited 9 months over on AHN only to have it not arrive.
I have been on the hunt for another source only to find no one really has stock or they are making the most of the shortage amd charging accordingly.

I have a co ax and a new redding big boss 2. I love the co ax. It loads very true ammo with minimal run out. As said previously the springs can be a pain in the arse when they fly out and hide on the shed floor somewhere. I bought the redding after using the co ax for 2 years. When doing lots of resizing I found the arm I was using got very sore pretty fast from the handle being so much higher. I now use the co ax to seat bullets only. If I had my time again I would probably do the same again.

I'm using Wilson dies to seat more and more of my rounds these days so I was more after it for FL sizing. With my Hornady LNL you can see the die move slightly when the case goes in, I'm not sure how even it is, I should measure it one day. I love the quick changefeature of the LNL and couldn't see myself using a press that didn't offer that.

do you think the short arm would make it nicer to use?

I have the short arm for doing smaller cases like the hornet 223 dasher. I leave it on for seating but I find any larger cases that need fl sizing it requires a lot more effort. I the die securing system is great for fast die changes. The difference between the fixed die and the floating die in the two presses can be noticed very easily I can FL in the co ax without lube or bugger all, the redding needs a decent amount. I'm yet to have a case stick in the co ax. I haven't tried any cases bigger than a 300 wsm but a mate used his for the 338 lap mag and it worked perfect on those big cases too.

it is but he has a contract with au post that's how he can send me several kg of projectiles for $12

but for me to do the same it's $20 +
