Picked up 200 Fed and 200 Winchester once fired brass today for the 30/30.
$25 per 100.
Just gotta get time to clean the rifle and load some ammo.

I have had a good run with my 336C 30-30 loads 33.5 grains of 2208 with 150 gr Sierra FN also I have been out a few times shooting with the 165 grain FTX soft plastic point they are not cheep but they smash holes in moving targets. Also I was shooting out to 250m with good results

I went from a VX1 3x9x40 to a cheep artic fox red dot that was the best thing I have done up to 100m you cant miss.

Wearing it's Bushnell elite 2-7.
Lent it to a mate ,he scoped it up and did some load development .
The scope needs to go further forward .
May have to put a thicker recoil pad on the butt end or cut another slot in the weaver rail.

With the scope mount base, can you turn it around, would that put it another half inch forward ? Cutting another slot wouldn't be too hard, a hacksaw cut then some judicious work with a round file.

Nah, not really the work bench is in the other cnr of the shed That's just an old dining table I pile crap on, clean the guns on and occasionally butcher deer on, multi purpose table you could call it

Found a kick pad today for the Marlin.
Quick fit up job,eye relief perfect for the Bushnell 2-7 now.

Taped my highly sort after target to a shitty old cardboard box and stepped back 69 Biggy Steps.
Sand bags on the bonnet of the old Jackeroo ready for a controlled group test.

Federal 150 grain FN factory
First shot with a clean barrel,a little high.
Next 3 shots pretty tight.
Happy with the group.
Would like to lighten the trigger off,bloody heavy.

Shot a few groups with the Sierra 170'FN and 2208.
Started with 31.5.
Second , 32.0
Third, 32.5! 2 cutting ,next 50 mm low.May be I pulled the shot.

BLODDY HEAVY TRIGGER.

Will make up some .2 increments increase loads and see if that works.

Off to work tomorrow ,bugga.
