I reckon they would make a good varminter with a 70gn pill or lighter

How does a Dasher feed from a mag? A 6x47 or 243 could be easier in that respect.

I have one, only run 105's its great
I have seen a 22 and 6 Dasher feed from mags, but i would'nt bank on it working unless you had the exact same setup, just build a single shot

What powder read that re15 and 2208 around 32 33 for 105

Depends what you plan for it. For single load f class or fly or LRBR I can recommend them for sure. For a varminter they will work, its just a pain chasing expensive fireformed cases around the ute. Yes they will feed out of a 308 AI mag fine. Mine did. With 87gr vmax, they are a great varmint load I must admit. With 105gr class bullets they are very good for long range target shooting. 31.8gr 2206H (accurate but does ruin cases quicker) and 36gr 2209 (much milder but getting to the point your crunching powder when seating bullets) gets you 3000fps and thats nothing to be sneezed at considering how accurate they are. Havent tried 2208, but RL15 Im around 32.5gr. For varmints I shot 35gr BM2 with 55gr bullets and they were cranking out of a 21 inch barrel (noisy as heck too!) 33gr 2208 with the 87vmax was scary accurate and pretty mild. If you want a varmint gun with 55-70gr pills get a 12 twist. If you want to go up to say 95gr then 9 twist will do but 8 twist will be needed if you want to shoot long range with it. The 87's ran fine in an 8 twist, the 55's some times went funny. The other thing, get a 271 or 272 no turn neck if your varminting with it. Mine is a 268 and I have to turn for it so it makes losing cases that you spent so long prepping even more annoying. Freebore wise the USA shooters like 130 thou plus freebore. I think closer to 110 thou would be about right- mine are 125 thou and its possibly a whisker long.

Main use is f class but would like to smash some red dogs with it too..
Going to jam pills into lands to firefoam. Has been done in this barrel for the 50 shots that its had. It has worked fine with lapua brass..

If its mainly f class start with a 30 inch barrel if you can help it. Nothing wrong with 28- lots of yanks rave about the accuracy of 28 inch barrels, but when they get too short you lose velocity for long ranges. Hard thing being dual purpose I know- long barrels suck when varminting- anything over 26 inches can be a pain. If its an 8 twist then look at the 87vmax for varmint loads. 100 thou freebore is good for both 87 vmax and 105gr pills.

Fireforming is easy, all the false shoulder stuff isnt needed. Just use 3-4 thou neck tension and a stiff jam (30 thou) and soft primers. Federal golds work fine. Usual fireform loads are around 30gr 2208. Cases will probably need fireforming twice to get a good final shape but you can use full strength loads after the initial firing.

Howdy fellas-- I've got a Dasher--- I wish I had of read Brad Y's advice before I started stuffin' around. I didn't bother with a tight neck-- just went standard.
I too found that the false shoulder thing is not required. I'm using 95 gn bergers, the hunting/ target pill. These are no where near as accurate as 107 Sierra's, but I just read Bergers website re -- seating depths. Thanks Brad for the info-- I'll start with 100 thou of the lands-- maybe that will tickle up the Bergers.
Luv mine, now that I've shot the same case a couple of times-- and Brad is spot on -- cases take more than 1 firing to fireform with a nice sharp shoulder.
Pulled off a top shot recently--330 mts on a crow sitting on a dead pig. If I was doing it again, I would stick to standard 6mm BR. with an 8 twist. But one day I want to shoot the 1,000 yards comp -- so the extra velocity will be handy
By the way-- jump onto "Bullets.com"-- read about how the owner commissioned Norma to produce half a million rounds of 6mm Dasher brass, with a double drawing of the brass to strenthen primer pockets.
I sent off an email to Bullets.com and they told me they cannot send products out of the USA.

Just had my old 22-250 of 30 years re barrelled to 6mm dasher short throat for pills up to 80grn as a windy night fox snotter hope to start loading soon so I will be trying some of these loads suggested still working up a new load for my 6slr with 85 grn v max

I put loads down on Saturday was a bit rushed I was working night shift over the weekend.

A quick bore sight at 100 (was not far out from old rifle settings) had 3 shoots no group as I move the scope after each shot..
Than back to 900 21 moa up 1 moa to right for wind.
Was still low up 3 moa.. first 3 shot only 4 than in out 5 and6 ended up with 51.. .. pack up home to bed
Was happy with that for new rifle and no load development .. the load was 2208 32gr 87 vmax. .going put on paper soon..
The rifle is nice to shoot .. helps its over 8kg
