I agree with Jeff. Looks as if Narromine will be a good contest. See you all there.

Re: Corryong 16 May 2015 1000yrd Results
The worst thing about these groups is they were all vertical , didn't start shooting until 1.00 as we were waiting for the fog to lift. so had some weird mirage due to the warm and bloody cold air, at one stage had right mirage in the top half of the scope and left in the bottom half...

Paul,
Sounds a bit like Townsville wind flags, 5 flags, 6 different wind directions

How many people usually shoot in these matches? Is it gaining or declining in popularity?

Hi Seddo,
Can't speak for other ranges, but Townsville has a hard core of about 6 guys, I anticipate a few other short range BR guys coming in soon as well. It is a difficult discipline, it requires all three aspects of shooting to be spot on. You need to build a gun that will track and shoot, ammunition that is consistent and will shoot, and the shooter has to be able to do his job. I can do the first two, just suck at number three.

Re: Corryong 16 May 2015 1000yrd Results
I sent an email to the benchrest guys here only to be told the last 100/200 match for the year is in June. The rest of the year is full of 300/500 fly shoots. I guess that means the popularity of short range benchrest is declining, I would have assumed it would have been shot more often.
With no 1000m br guys down here it's something I will have to wait to have a go at. I'll start with 100/200 and then fly before I take a crack at 1000m
