Gas ram air rifles

Post by SA Feral Shooter »

Hi fellas,
I'm thinking of getting an air rifle in .22 , my last one was a FX Cyclone .177 that thing was real accurate but had to sell to pay some bills.
I am interested in the range of gas ram rifles and Beeman keeps popping up...does anyone have experience with the Beeman gasram rifle in .22 cal?
cheers,
Sean.

Lewis on here used to be Mr Beeman Australia. Beeman Gas Rams were in fact UK made Theoben rifles. I have one in both .22 & 0.20 & better engineered guns would be hard to find.

Only available second hand now, rare & expensive.

Have you thought of a tuned Weihrauch springer, new, still available & equally as accurate ?

As Matt said, a tuned Weihrauch springer is something to behold. I have two HW97Ks; 0.177 & 0.22. Both shoot very consistently and accurately.

There are several low to mid price range PCPs on Usedguns.com.au at the moment. As you've already had experience in precharged rifles, it may be worth a look. I know a colleague who was looking at selling his Hatsan BT65 0.177 at quite a reasonable price. I could enquire on your behave if you like. They are a great budget shooter.

Bt 65 is a great pcp...over powered in stock form but easily De tuned to 950 fps with heavy pellets.
My neighbor has one and it's a beast!

Thanks for the replies lads,
but after shooting springers most of my life I kinda like the pcps (no spring fatigue to worry about).

Hi Sean,

If I were to throw cash at a Gas Ram AR, the Impact Airguns RM100 would be my choice. Might be a case of "Special Order" directly from the UK though. :(

Here is a like to the Airgun Shooting magazine's review. http://www.airgunshooting.co.uk/expert- ... _1_3886249

But there's no spring fatigue in a Gas Ram.

Does Daisy = Dave T, the Geek in White Coat from Canberra Nats 2014?

Daisy = Fat red & white beard yank who did shoot at Canberra Silhouette Nats. Not Dave True from ACT, though I have been seen in his company with beer in hand.
You coming up to Berridale for this years Nats ? Guess Butler will be.
