Well yesterday shot 700 yards at Bathurst and what a cross wind, would have been in the 15 to 30 range and gusts that were higher. The top A grader shot a 108 whilst the other 2 both shot 100.1 and. 100.2. I am pretty happy that I shot a 96.3 that could have been better except for a couple of 4's that I stuffed my shot. Just went bang with the crosshair in the wrong spot bugger

did that today SS,a fair few times... :(

although...i did get a total of 72.0 best score so far.
even managed 2 bulls eyes on the second string sighters.....all went to shit after that though

now im told i can only use 155gn projectiles in TR.
maybe get a shoot in next fortnight, but doubt before that.

camel,those 178gn amax's are damn fun,12 thou off the lands with 43gn of 2208.
havent looked at the primers properly yet but they looked a bit flat to me.
not smeared but not like factory either.

not sure what i will be using next time.

damn good fun.

Yep tr and f std only 155 grn projectile's, f open can use what ever you want. I am still using the bjd's they shoot OK in my rifle. Get them through the club only 35 per 100. Are you still using the club Omark or have you acquired one for your self.

That is the good thing about using the Omark especially for target rifle and f std there are so many kicking around that at the clubs a lot of people can work with them. I was lucky with the one I bought in the fact that it was used by one of the top a grade shooter's for quite a few years (its on its third replacement barrel) it was already bedded in all I had to do was get the scope mount drilled and tap'd and shoot her.

yup i dont mind the omark, this one was my grandads target rifle.so it will be good to shoot it.
its got a new barrel on it now and the bolt has got a new pin and spring plus an upgraded bolt face pin.
it had a stock for it but my brothers mate pinched it and i had to get a new one...and the fun begins.

i have another that will take a scope but i want a new barrel for that bugga.

ps:sunday was 700yrds.

How'd you go yesterday I was in no condition on Saturday to shoot. All of the f class shooters so I would have one by default again.

went backwards yesterday,72.0 down to 68-2.
its a bugger not having my own rifle up and running.
you cant really develop a load for the club gun.

one round sort of didnt want to chamber, but did.
and another just wouldnt.but all were loaded the exact same.
i put it back in my press to check it for length and it was spot on....
buggered if i know.

gotta get more pills now....

What kind of case is it. I got a stack of once fired Winchester cases and even after full length sizing whilst they would chamber fine and fired OK they wouldn't extract so I got some lapua and no more problems.

Umm Born and bred in WA and started my mound interest there, enhanced and then destroyed by the Australian Defence Force, however persevered through and enjoyed shooting for the NT "state" team.
The ADF has many intricacies including not having a recognised target shooting team or Association - but do have a Yachting and Nordic Skiing team, don't get me started on Ten Pin Bowling ADF Teams either - go figure. Yeah ok so I am old and jaded.

The main thing "we" as Target Shooters (of ANY discipline) can do - is encourage people to attend their first Range day, make them welcome and then encourage them to COME BACK.

Sean,
Not sure if I have misread anything so far, but the Club should have made it very clear on projectile/powder restrictions when you showed interest and brought your ammunition with you for either F Standard or TR.
