Opinions on Maddco barrels

Hi everyone. Am looking at getting 2 Maddco stainless barrels. One for the Ruger No 1 in 204 and one in 7mm for a hunting rifle I am building. Am wondering if anyone has used their barrels lately and what do they think of them regarding accuracy and barrel life. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Not me personally (yet) but a mate has a couple and the accuracy is top rate. Turned a 2 incher (on a good day) into an almost regular 1/2 incher.
When I wear the barrel out on the .257 I'll be getting one (just can't happen fast enough).

With the au $ compared to the US at the moment it makes the maddco's much better priced than imported barrels too

Got one on my 6.5. Shoots great. Have nothing to compare it to custom wise though.

Was thinking of a hopping on the Seddo Pac Nor buy.
Shame really with all the work he's put in trying to organise a buy that it hasn't happened yet.

I have one - a 223 with a tight neck match chamber, it's excellent. Cleans up really well, shoots awesome (1/2-3/4 moa at 100 with cheap factory ammo) a barrel will only be as good as the work of the smith who puts it on though...

I have maddco barrels in 22 cal 6mm and 30 cal 6 in total get great accuracy from all you won't go wrong with one

I am thinking of getting a Maddco 20 cal barrel to put in the safe for ron. If stored correctly they don't have a use-by date, wont go mouldy and will only go up in price. It may take another 4 or 5 years for my 20/222 to go off, so it would be handy to have one in stock for that eventuality. Will save some more pennies and see about it in another 4 or 5 months.

I reckon on the formula, when doing a re barrel, that the barrel quality is worth 80 percent of your results, the plumbing work is worth 15 percent, loading and shooting ability are the other 5 percent.
