Re: 2208 in the 270 wsm
For what its worth, In my Vanguard I was using 59gr 2209 with a 130gr Nosler Ballistic Tip for 3150fps. Only slightly faster than my Vanguard and Remington in .270 Winchester. It was all I could get out of that rifle without going to the hot side. Every case needed to be full length size too.

Thanks loundsie,
I was thinking to start at 58grns and go up to around that.
Will be interesting to see how it goes.

just before christmas I bought 2 4kgs tubs from VRA in Bendigo. Our own Ned Kelly answered the phone and pushed my credit card balance up.
I concur with Kickin, 2209 in the 300wsm

Loaded up a small sample, ready to try out next time I have a day off( and weather is good).
A few nosler 130g accubonds to get on paper and then a few 140g hornady SST's to finish.

Those 140gr SST's are a pretty tough pill. Great for large pigs!

Re: 2208 in the 270 wsm
Small update
Took the "beast" out yesterday
My ears are still ringing and I was using earmuffs.
Apart from firing a few ex military stuff years ago, I don't think I have ever had anything in the safe, this big and this noisy. Recoil wasn't too bad, until the 6th shot, then I started to feel I needed to do something to change things.
Managed to get it shooting ok with a couple of shots. I had bore sighted at home and then did the final check at 100m. The 130 noslers did ok but the 140's showed more promise.
As I have more of them on hand , I will keep playing with them until I get a reasonable group.
A work in progress.
