Has anyone ever tried the marble/ball bearing valve grinding paste method for lapping a crown? I know the proper method to crown is in a lathe with both ends of the bore dialled in but I have read that you can get very satisfactory results using the above method.
I have a .22 I wouldnt mind trying on.
cheers,
Sean

De-burring tool on a cordless drill will do the job.

I hope you were joking as much as me. A bloke I knew years ago had a ZKW hornet that he reckoned need a re-crown, he did just that, then tried to ell me that the chatter marks, from where the cutting edges on the de-burring tool jumped when they hit the rifling, was the reason why that rifle was so accurate. He seemed to manage to gut shoot rabbits at less than 100 yds, but the wind seemed to make him miss a lot when out any further.
There are some interesting videos on u-tube about this very topic if you get your google fingers going.
