Berger 190gn .308 Hunting VLD projectiles

Post by mick_762 »

Anybody seen any for sale around the traps?
Specifically after these:
190 gr Match Grade VLD Hunting (30514)

All my normal haunts have sold out, and would like to try them in my new toy when she is up and running.

Cheers,

Mick

Also the QRA store http://www.shootenstuff.com.au bring in alot of berger projectiles. Good prices, but they arent as cheap as BRT on shipping. Prices work out fairly similar.

Mick.
Are hoping to shoot longer distances with Berger 190's in the 308 say compared to 155,168,180s.
Interested as I'm about to load for my boys 308 tomorrow with some Lapua cases n 155 A Max's .
Cheers George

G'day George,
Not for my .308 mate, I am building a .308 Norma Magnum sorry.

I have always had very good results from 155gn HBC / VLD type projectiles with Target Rifle (up to 900 meters).
Admittedly it is a dedicated target rifle - single shot action / 30" barrel though.

Lapua cases, CCI LR pimer, 155gn Dyer HBC under 46.5gn of 2208.
That load is safe in MY rifle - not recommended you load the same.

Regards,

Mick

My rifle shot really well with 47.3 in Winnie cases, it just seems to work (46.5 - 47.5 area), but as usual i wanted to see if it could do better - hence the Lappie cases.
Yep it shoots better - but I dont haha
