pd,
The Hoppes or similar type of solvent is used first up to remove the carbon/powder (black crap) out of the barrell with a couple of wet patches and then a few strokes (8-10) of a wet brush then dry patch. This exposes the copper for the sweets
If you put sweets on a bronze brush ...you wont have a brush for very long as it's a copper solvent....it will eat the brush.
Have you read Rinso's post ?

Well Kenny,
Never said I was but I was there pretending....there were around ten HOFers there and I beat 1 or 2.... Most of them made the top ten in the 2 Gun Grand Agg so a 10th place was reasonable. I also asked Bazza about 200metre fly at Silverdale and guess what he said...you guessed it 200yards....SMOWAYP you pretenders.
