Townsville 500m and 1000yd results, 2/8/2014

Post by justjeff »

Guys,

I have posted the results. Winds were light and finnicky, mirage was about 4 inches, and it was about 30deg, normal winter day here. Congrats to Al N, he shot HG for the first time, with one of his light guns, and snuck in a sub 6" group. I spent the day load testing 210 bergers.

Yeah, think I might go back to LG as this HG stuff is a bit too easy..... twice as many shots and smaller groups!!!

Seriously though today now has me thinking of options on how to build a HG to really have a serious crack at the class properly...... Already designing / modifying stocks, considering cartridges...... what to do :? :?

Hi Jack,

As I said in the intro, I was testing 210 Bergers, as I am not sure if I can get more BIB's. The good news is Al has shot his good group, it's all downhill from here  Next month I will be shooting Amax with AMP jacket to see how they go.

Jeff

PS, on a sad note, JR's dad passed away on Friday night, this is perhaps not a bad thing, as he wasn't in a good place pain wise. My thoughts are with JR and his family.

Aahhh Jack, this HG thing has me a bit hooked as I am contemplating changing barrels and opening a box of those other bullets to see how they work. Never know might shoot a pair of 5s
