Vortex Viper has arrived

Post by Dr G »

Well the Vortex Viper 3-9x40 has arrived

Actually it arrived yesterday but I was away with work so a 4 buisness day turn around from ordering to delivery, pretty bloody good, Thanks Antony and Vortex AU for the great service and prompt followup.

First impressions are that it looks sweet. No damage, no dirty fingermarks, everything where it should be. The scope has is a practical matte colour which suits me as i am not a fan of gloss at all. The zoom adjustment is smooth, firm enough that it will be controllable but light enough that you will be able to adjust it easilly while looking through the scope. I can see what Rinso was talking about with the way it is set up so you can easilly read the setting without lifting your head from the rifle.

Looking through the scope the optics are clear and the reticle will be plenty fine enough for hunting.

I am still waiting for paperwork for the camel rifle so it will be a few weeks before i can test it in the field. But so far so good

Thanks again Vortex AU for not stuffing me about. Really appreciated and thanks for the lens pen, it will come in handy

Hi Dr G,

Glad to hear it arrived in order. I look forward to you being able to use it. With your photography skills some desert scenes with the scope in the field will be expected. 8)

Kind Regards

G'day Dr. G & Dr. Antony,

I received my new Vortex scope (6-20x44) the other day also, and ditto to your comments, it is a nice bit of gear.

Can't wait to put it on a rifle and give it a proper workout......... :)

Regards

Peter

Hi Malcolm,

I only recently read something about the Crowbuster site & am not a member, I just love bust'n crows. I agree it is a good name & I was surprised no one else was already using it...

So as a member of the US site, what's it all about. Obviously blowing crows away is the main theme, but I assume there is more to it than that..

Maybe you should start a separate thread in which you tell all

cheers
