Guys,
As well as the V8's, the motor bikes and the dykes, we shot 2 matches this weekend. Weather was a typical shitty day in Paradise, 26deg, light wind, not a cloud. Damn it's tough. Results are in the competition section, I was happy to shoot a 5.5 HG group after Narromine, which had me questioning my sanity.

Townsville Weekrnd Results.
Re: Townsville Weekrnd Results.
Ok well finally got back to shoot another 1000yd match which was the first one since the start of November last year which was great. The real attraction for me today was the fact I was able to help my daughter shoot her first 1000yd match today as junior after getting her permit earlier this year. Work has been in the way of my shooting lately so I have not had a chance to get the 6BR running for her so she had to tough out shooting the 30cal....... and she had shot the 223 once before so I told her the recoil would not be much worse because it has a muzzle brake
Her results were pretty amazing for a first go. For her first target I helped her during the sighting period and then we picked a point on the target to aim at for the record period and I let her to shoot her group. By the end of the string she had shot a 13.6" group for a score of 26 with all 5 shots on paper shooting blind Although she did say the recoil was much worse than the 223 and her shoulder was a bit sore
Second target and she was set to go again, this time complete with additional padding on her shoulder for the recoil - we folded up an old tea towel rag and stuffed it into her shirt for some more padding I helped her again for the sighter period, then confirmed our aiming point for the record period and left her shoot her group. This time she managed all five on paper again shooting blind and finished with a 8.9" group and score of 44.
To say she is happy is an understatement and she is eager to go back again next month and try again although I have been given instructions to get the 6BR up and running........ although does anyone have any old footy shoulder pads???

All you boys shooting small groups with the heavy guns jeff makes me wish I had a good barrel in mine hopefully me maddco will have it finished soon .And a well done to young miss Nielson on her first time at 1000yds
Re: Townsville Weekrnd Results.
I gave her a shot out of my HG, she reckons that's what she wants, it doesn't hurt. Not sure Al was to pleased, he might have to rethink a cruiser weight 6br. Was a good day, with Al, Eric and Sophie on the line.

Macca,
Trev is using a 284, and I think he shot the 180gr Sierra for 1000yd. As I said earlier, it was a great feeling to know it was just me and the weather at Narromine, as usual, the issue is the organic thing at the back of the gun.

G'day Macca
Trev is shooting his 284 and is definitely shooting some good groups.
Sophie is as keen as mustard and doesn't fully comprehend the results she shot yesterday. I thought it was great she got 10 on the paper for the day but when the second group was an 8" and score of 44 that was pretty cool. When I get the 6BR going it will be a bit easier for her to handle recoil wise and it will be interesting to see her results. We may end up with a new set of records like when TZ was running that 6BR of his........ then I might have to borrow her gun
