Lee loader

Hey I have a good rcbs set up now so this is something that happened a few years ago... I got a lee loader to start into reloading my 3006, it was all I could get at the time, worked well exept one little major thing... It never gripped the projectiles!! U could push them into the case with ur thumb!

Has anyone else had this in any cal???

Nope, had a couple of sets that I started loading with back in the early 80's, 222 and 6.5 turnip, worked great.

I think you aren't driving the shells fully into the body to resize them.

That's what I did. Hit it home flush. U can't adjust them. I'd say it was not the correct size

Either that or the pills you are using

No measured them. The same pills worked fine in my press and rcbs dies. I'd say a shit oversized diameter in the lee loader

Try going to the Lee site and having a whinge. It can't hurt, and you might be surprised.

I got carried away and broke a press linkage. I contacted them with a photo and was more than happy with the response. They were very quick to get a replacement in the mail.

It's worth a go......

Humour us a little. Are you using boat tailed bullets?

Grab an empty case- your bullet should fall into the cartridge.
Empty the cartridge and whack it in the resizing part of the die. This should resize the neck and give it some tension.
Now punch that case out of the die body.
A small driver through the top will work- with gentle taps.

If you using a boat tailed bullet- try and insert it into the cartridge by hand. If not- invert the bullet and push it in.

If the bullet falls in- you aren't driving that cartridge in far enough to neck resize it- or the due is wrong/cartridge necks too thin. Etc.etc
Is the bullet inserting with the same pressure as the ones you have already made reloading (and you can remove with your fingers)?

Lastly- you can also crimp the cartridge down as a last resort.

well at least you got the neck tension sorted nice and consistent

Had the same problem with my 308 loader. The problem was thin necks on the Winchester brass. I started using Remington brass and no more problems.
