Reamers

Hmm I might just get my own,I am waiting on a Beggs reamer at the moment and a BR would be ok to have as well,if I was to purchase yours Trev I would be right for a smith.I would go straight 20BR ,easy to source dies,and overbore enough as it is.......especially for the light projectiles.
I would spec it between .4730 to .4734 at the base ,.4710 to .4715 at the .200 line,1.560 overall,.237 neck no turn,0.15 free bore for the 32 to 40 gner's,given those base measurements it would be a great match to Redding dies and no click at the top of the bolt lift.

Chris Seddo needs a 50% deposit to order the barrel (which may take a while) and then its 12 weeks delivery time so I wont need a reamer for a while.

How soon do you want one? If you order yours first then Jason and I will queue up quite happily after you

Trev I am like you...................................I have time ,I am in no rushI have stuff coming through customs right now,I have stuff going through US customs now,I have stuff on order.......................a lot of stuff ............. ,I have one rifle in the country and another about to leave the states...........................I have enough to chew on for a while.
I am waiting on a 20Beggs reamer,a short throated 6BR reamer,6mm throating reamer, and been thinking about the 20BR reamer as we have discussed and also a 20 throating reamer as well.
I really need to stop buying stuff..................................either that or get the internet disconnected .

Use it ..................hey BP if anything ever happened to me then my wife would likely sell it to you for a pineapple ,I do have a plan/plans but being a dealer isnt one of them,self sufficent yes,dealer no.I like most of you blokes have served my apprenticeship with factory,then semi factory rifles and making do with this and that,well now I am going without certain things so that I can get exactly what I want and have it operate how its meant to.
I have had barrels chambered with reamers that I had to make do with dies that didnt match correctly,couldnt get rid of the bolt click,try another set of dies same drama,now I know what reamer dimension works with what dies and I am going for a setup that works as it should.
Same with actions,I will admit it I like custom actions,from the pride in ownership to the functionality and resale value I have had enough factory rifles over the years and now I have been spoilt,I am not an elitest in saying that either ,want a lend of something sure no dramas,want a go of my rifle sure go right on ahead,I have been beaten by my own rifles enough times at club comps that it wears a bit thin sometimes .
I am always learning something and I am just easing into the next phase of my favourite past time.....................jeez I hope that made sense or sence or something like that.

It's all part of the journey.
I love custom actions and I doubt I will ever buy another factory produced rifle, ever again. Period.
Once you get the feel of one of those you tend not to look at anything else.

Why don't you guys man up and use a decent reamer.
Only kidding!

You mentioned ACP making some projectiles for you.
I would be interested in finding out more info on those.
Oh btw, I use a 9 twist Lilja and have had no problems with anything from 40-55 grn projectiles. All shoot well in that twist brl.

Glenn the BR case can feed from a magazine. This gun is going to be a clone of my 6/250 which is my favorite to use and this one will have DBM and look all tacticool wanky

Chris, I size my 20 cal brass with a 226 bushing, lets say the pill pushes the OD of the case to 228 then 237 would be a hell of a lot of clearance. I fully expect to be turning necks since the case starts at 6mm

Glen nice rifle,I ain't into tacticool but I can appreciate a well built rifle,now you can do a no turn .20 BR,I don't have any .20 projectiles but maybe someone could neck a BR case down seat a projectile and measure the neck at the pressure ring.
I do know that my old Br brass gold box, of which I have 3 boxes of are around .0025 thicker in the neck wall than the newer blue box.

Glenn, nice rifle. Mine will have a PST082 thumbhole in urban cammo. Bought it already, exactly the same as the 6/250.

Chris the Jab 20 has .232 neck as was the 204, They were both meant to be no turn necks. The JAB 20 was no turn with win brass and a skim turn with necked down IMI 223. The 204 was no turn,

So that is a preamble to the point. Does it matter how thick the neck wall is. It appears to be thick enough to hold a pill
