It is hard ......no frustrating to go to a GS and them not have any powder .... everytime lately or the not sure when it comes in response. Most likely not the shops fault as others have noted.

What if there was a GP delivery guy bit like the milko :) hmmmm
What powder are you chasing we have pretty good stocks atm.
Got any lilgun??

I am not down that way for a while although I could prob do a stop over with a trip coming up to Canberra for the day for In-laws 90th I think.

I know its easy to bag any LGS but just step back and have a think about the real issues. I know we try and order powder 6 months in advance but you can still get caught short. We sold out of 4kg lots of 2208 in the space of a week and that was our six month order.
. I read some where the American defense dept put in orders for 500 million 223 500 mil 308s,I would think a heap of ADI powder will be US bound .Plus ADI not doing runs of certain powders.
Spot on,we sell shit loads more powder to weekend shooters than pro's mostly in 500gram containersThe roo trade is as fickled trade to be in ATM.one week the shooters are told to shoot with no quoters, the next week, only 250 Roos to be shared between a large number of shooters at here local chiller:( .Poor bastards can't plan from week to week. Just a suggestion,if your local gs has your powder, buy it there and then, don't winge and wine about price and availability, buy the stuff.Your better off looking at it than looking for it.2cents worth

I know what you mean. Some gs are just useless. I remember I put an order in for some Hornady 87gr V-Max in 6mm, I was told it won't be in for at least 4 months. That's ok I can wait, put an order in for 500. Five months pass and haven't heard from them.

I go into said shop and enquire about the order. "Oh yes, we got those projies 3 weeks ago, they sold like hot cakes". I ask if they have put my pills to one side as I put an order in for them. "wait I'll just have a look".

"Oh dear I'm sorry, we inadvertently sold your projies, but we do have some 100gr round nose if your interested?"
F#$%^ing C#$k heads.

Having said all that, now I am at peace. I found a gun shop where I can put an order in and they will contact me (sms) and they are cheaper than the city shops. If they don't have what I want in the shop they will order it in. That's customer service.

Well I know I am not the only one here but I have a very good relationship with my supplier. I have never had a problem. Now I have to qualify this a little. He is a very small operator, working from home as an ammunition seller. He also does reloading equipment and scopes etc. Basically everything but the bang stick. I have had to wait for stuff as he might be out of it. But he will ring me when he gets it in, puts it asside and even runs an account(buying for farming business) for me. He has all the same dramas as the big guys about powder and more so as he doesn't go through as much as them. But he has said in the past that I might be better off going elsewhere if he is not going to be able to compete on price or it will take ages to get in. If your passing through Swan Hill, look up "top shot shells". Chris is a great bloke to deal with. Apologies for the plug but I reckon the good ones should be known about.

Ok well talked to Chris today, and he is more than happy to do mail orders if people want to buy stuff from him. Not sure of the rules for plugging business here so if you want PM me and I will give you his details. Tell him I sent ya and hopefully he gives me a discount! :auto:

We were talking about powder and how it was difficult to get. He is is the process of getting an Order together now but since Winchester took over, they will not deliver unless he gets over 100kg in one go. So if anyone wants powder and is up around the swan hill area(or is willing to come up) get an order in to help him out. I said I will buy a kg or 2 but he needs a fair bit.

I must say though this bloke is not a "cheaper than the rest bargain basement bloke". His price is fair, maybe a little cheaper than some but I get stuff from him because he is honest and doesn't screw me around. If he can't get it, he tells me and if he thinks I could get it a fair bit cheaper he will also tell me.
