Something is missing...

Post by Brad Y »

Guess whats missing from the bench. I just bedded the recoil lug on my f class rifle. The action sits on a v block so dont need to do the whole thing, just the recoil lug.

Nope- hope the recoil lug is on there if I bedded it!

Jeff- smartarse. No point having a phone here that has a good camera. There is stuff all reception and I have a couple of digital cameras that are collecting dust.

Correct, the release agent was taken away. But dont worry there is plenty all over the action, barrel and stock where devcon isnt wanted. Just thought it was an interesting question to ask. Quite a few people ask about bedding rifles and its not hard to do. So long as you understand all the processes to the job. This is the 4th rifle I have done, though the v block was already bedded into this stock anyway for another action, I just had to grind out the old material as the recoil lugs were slightly different in size, then fill it all back up with devcon and let it dry again.

Now now chris... I dont use an allen key to keep them tight. Im half tempted to fill them with DEVCON! Its happened to 2 other people since me and a few have gone and rechecked theirs since too! Oh well keep that one for the funny book.

Jeff- you snooze, you loose!

Gluing the rail down with epoxy is always an option.
