Kinda, sorta
To do with shooting, does anyone know if they make 12volt toasted sanga makers ? I'm getting sick of just plain sangas when I'm shooting and reckon some nice fresh made toasties would be the go at midnight.

If you find one post it on the board , bloody good idea . We've got 6 blokes on tractors doing 12 hr shifts that would kill for one I'd reckon

Try this http://www.australiandirect.com.au/buy/ ... /PNP-400SK , cost $250
Re: Kinda, sorta
You would want to have a good battery to run one of those......the power demand would be astronomical !
I would get myself an old school jaffle iron from the camping shop, and one of those $20 gas cookers and do it that way......you can boil the billy as well then.
You can all sorts of good stuff in them....... Cost...less than $40 for both of them.....and they make good hand warmers as you are waiting for it to cook

you can get the 12v ovens they not real big great for pies and heating up left overs dial down low put it on while shooting/driving and heats as you go .
there many diff types ,1 of the guys in the club has 1 that cooks a small roast while driving, and its about the size of a carton of coke
most off road shops [arb ,tjm ,op. lock] can help you on these also, and ebay has a few also

I like toasted sangas, but Wow they don't come cheap.BP72 wrote:Try this http://www.australiandirect.com.au/buy/ ... /PNP-400SK , cost $250
Harb, I did think of doing that, I have a couple of those little stoves and a jaffle iron, will have to see if I can find the space in the ute with all my other gear. I don't think I would have a problem with one of the 12v ones cause I never turn my ute off until I get back home after shooting. Once bitten, twice shy.
Re: Kinda, sorta
FMD at that price you'd be better off throwing an inverter in and using a normal 240v one.

Y'know Grimo, I don't know why they reckon you're slow, I actually have an inverter behind the seat of the ute so I can run my laptop when I need to download some of my tracks to my GPS, I never even thought of doing that, guess who is the slow one now.

Re: Kinda, sorta
Just check the wattage of the toaster before you commit to the inverter.

Re: Kinda, sorta
You would need to check the wattage. If toasted sandwich maker is 1000w and you only have a 600w inverter something will not work for long. Because it is a heating appliance sandwich maker may even be in the 2000w range making an inverter not that cheap. The cheap sandwich makers will prob be less wattage and you could get lucky though
Re: Kinda, sorta
The fancy new breville one is 1000W. (Not that I have stock in breville and would inadvertently get any benefit to you purchasing their fantastic products)

Re: Kinda, sorta
Inverters are a crap load cheaper than they used to be to.
Re: Kinda, sorta
Yeah you would need a pretty big inverter to run one.......

Re: Kinda, sorta
Thanks fellas, I know I will have to upgrade the inverter, its only 300W, but its a good idea
Re: Kinda, sorta
Just get an old cast one and jam it between the block and manifold, flip it around after 5 minutes or so. Smell of cheese sizzling on the manifold might even bring the foxes in...
