Bolt timing

Ok any of you desperado's had to get a bolt handle timed,who did you use,I have one that pretty well has no primary extraction at all and needs doing badly.

Gday Dan,

Mate its the cam that kicks the bolt back......for want of a better description,Here is a pic of the bolt half up,last one is showing just before the lugs are disengaged.

You can just make out the small shiny mark where it contacts in this pic.

Another great example of Remington primary extraction!

I have 2 exactly the same!

You know what I am replacing them with!

Chris, I assume the lugs on the action and bolt have been machined to within an inch of their life? I would be looking at putting a small pad weld with the TIG in the bolt handle BUT THATS JUST ME. I accept no responsibility for anything.

I have had exactly that done and it worked excellently.

Thank guy's ......................I think :wink: ,we have a tig at work,plenty of scope for something to go wrong with this one!!!!! :lol:
I FL pretty well all my cases every time,this one is a prick of a thing as if I dont FL then after a couple of firings it will fail to extract,this usually coincides with a trip some place and really pisses me of.

I have considered using it as a club a couple of times now.

Low amps (30 or less) and don't get carried away. The less heat the better.
