How did you boys do at the fly shoot this weekend out at leeton?? i know you proberly still tired from traveling home from a long day, but i have been stuck inside for the past 3 days with influenza and nothing to do so i thought i would check in and see how it all went as i would have like to have gone.

I never thought of it yes but 300 would be max. the winner scored in the low 270s from memory (it was only today and I should of paid more attention)
My first target scored 39 and the next 46 and I did better with each target until 53 on my final. Got the fly twice. before i went i was worrying about being able to hit the target at all, now wondering how to get a better score next time.

trevort did very well in his first attempt at target shooting.
On Saturday trevort shot a Match 54 Anschtuz with Shane Clancy (shared rifle) a strong wind from the right made the rimfire very interesting and trevort managed a 4th placing.
This is a very good result for someone who has never shot at 200m with a 22lr before, particularly when using a rifle he had never seen before Sat morning.
Also met knackers on Staurday at the rimfire good to see you mate.
Saturday night saw a group of us having a excellent meal at the Murrumbidgee Hotel Narrandera (highly recommeded) a good feed and a lot of talk about shooting and rifles (and what tervort should build next) over a few cool drinks .. a good night was had by all.
Trevort then backed up Sunday with a solid performance, whilst not managing to make the top few it was a fine introduction to long range BR and one should remember all the shooters in the winners circle on Sunday were experienced long range target shooters using custom built target rifles (all built by Shane Clancy as well, good work Shane).
So trevort's results while not a victory were certainly very good for a new starter. The 6-250 has suprised trevort with its accuracy as well.
Special mention to mitchellchandler who dropped in Sunday picked up a few prizes and left happy, well done mate.
It was good to meet you blokes and I hope to see you all a matches in the future. Thanks to Shane Clancy and the folks at Leeton for an enjoyable shoot.
trevort 6.5-284 is all I will say.
The rest of you sad sacks should come have a go ... you might just like itand at worst you get to meet a few blokes and burn some powder.

thanks to Chris and Shane Tucker for offering (and following thru) to let me try a 6.5 -284 target rifle. Chris is a left hander and I told him if my test target beat his best target I had to keep the rifle. He took it home!

You would not be disappointed if you turn up mate. Its all about having fun .. winning is a bonus.
You are a Canberra lad I see, so we will see you at Majura in September for the Pro Cal Fly shoot, I am pretty sure trevort will be there too after his effort last weekend.

The Pro Cal shoot is 500m isnt?? im assuming .233 would not be suitable for that distance exspecally of bipods, and i wont be able to get out to the range to see if my scope will even wind up that far and wont be able to till i get my safe and that wont happen till probelm one is fixed
work is such a royal pain in the ass, if only i could win the powerball jackpot then id be laughing.

G'day Trev, Rinso. Sounds like you had a good time on Sunday. My pregnant missus and son were too crook with the flu for me to come. By the way the wind was blowing here I could only imagine how it was over there.
