I dunno, I've never been on a posho hunt like this one before.
No problem DHV, I'll organise all the administrivia for you lot. I'll also add a small administration fee of about $10,000 per person to go with it ;) lol

Cheers

BB
And that admin fee doesn't include tips for the guides :D
One tip for you James :upyours: :kma: Oops that's two

Motley bunch that lot

Agreed

Hey Buff, if you get another couple of guides, we will be able to have our very own personal guide each, do we get a lil black fella to carry our guns and gear, or is that their job as well. I've always wanted to hunt Bwana style.
Mate if you can get MISSED to carry your gun as well as his, Kudo's to you

You would probably be better off getting one of the younger guides like Sam or James. You could maybe pull the respect your elders card? :P

There is no way I am going to carry you around old Bwana your Pith helmet would slow me down.

if flying and lucky enough to bag a buff how do you get the head or horns home? I assume rocking up and expexting to pass it of as carry on wouldn't fly, or is it a case of if it fits in the overhead compartment its all good.
cheers
James

btw I am bored sitting in melb airport waiting for a delayed flight. maybe I can ask the jetstar folk where I check in my guns and buffalo just to see if I get a reaction

Checked baggage would be the go mate. A mate and I flew from Townsville to Canberra last year with 6 Chital heads taped together wrapped in an old shirt without a drama, except for the chick in the lift at the Canberra airport who weirded out a bit  The staff at these airports will know the deal but you will have to pay excess baggage charges.

2015 BUFFATHON - Take 2

Post by Buffy »

Gents,
Please find below link to the QANTAS website in regards to firearms and ammunition carriage on civilian aircraft. Namely QANTAS and Jetstar flights.

http://www.qantas.com.au/dangerousgoods ... n-2013.pdf

I have also taken game heads on QANTAS and Jetstar flights with no issue so long as the "cap" is wrapped in plastic and taped up. Excess baggage charges may apply.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

That sounds like a great event. I won't be putting my name forward (thanks all the same), but I reckon you're a legend for organising it BB!

Mind you, if I find myself in Katherine sometime in the future, I would be interested in catching up for a beer and a yarn! See how it goes........

cheers, curan

I am happy to have the dates worked around the school holidays if it means a couple more young blokes could attend.

cheers

That would be awesome and as you said might make it easier for a few other young blokes as well.
My YB (110) probably doesn't make the selection criteria, been a member for 3 years but not what you would call an active poster  very keen for a position if you end up with any empty spots.
Talking about it with him last night and realised he will be 18 a few weeks before. We may even make a road trip out of it.
Thanks again for the offer BB the generosity of the blokes on this forum constantly amazes me.

My young bloke will be a few months short of his 16th in Sept 2015.

If the timing is suitable for the school holidays I am sure he will enjoy coming. He won't be looking to score on a black cow, but he shows definite interest in pigs so I expect he would be very keen to smash a big tusker if given the opportunity.

Anyway, that decision will be made closer to the date as his interest in getting his pillots licence may trump two weeks in the car with dad crossing miles and miles of bloody outback.
