Agreed
Hey Buff, if you get another couple of guides, we will be able to have our very own personal guide each, do we get a lil black fella to carry our guns and gear, or is that their job as well. I've always wanted to hunt Bwana style.

You would probably be better off getting one of the younger guides like Sam or James. You could maybe pull the respect your elders card?

Re: 2015 BUFFATHON - Take 2
Driving logistics.
Time from Melbourne, 2 solid days with an overnight somewhere? Or would it take three?
Anyone want to estimate fuel cost. Too hard for me. I get something like $1200
Fitting in a vehicle with your kit? Max 3 to a big car or 4 if it had a trailer?
Fuel cost then a 3 or 4 way split?
Any Victorians thinking of this planning on driving?
I'm thinking flying may be easier!

Melbourne to Katherine NT
Distance: 3436.2km Time: 33hr 40min (approx)
3 Days would be the best bet mate. That gives you 10-11 hours in the saddle each day. Its not a wise idea to travel after dark in these places if you can get away with it.
Just remember, If everyone decides to fly you will need to hire vehicles to get to and from Darwin to the hunting grounds. As my car can only hold 6 people. And be fucked if im doing 8 trips to and from Darwin to pick you all up

That makes it easier. 6 extra annual leave days needed as well as recovery time.
When you get firm numbers and dates allocate 4 members per 4wd to share the hire cost. No one expects you to be a taxi unless of course we book all the hire cars available!

Aren't the guides supposed to take care of all this administrivia for us?
I dunno, I've never been on a posho hunt like this one before.

Re: 2015 BUFFATHON - Take 2
Great offer and much appreciated
TYB and I would love to attend but need to sort dates etc.
TYB will be sitting HSC 2015, school holidays run 19/9-5/10. We would be a yes if between these dates.
I guess that makes us very interested but unable to commit until dates are firm.

220,
I am happy to have the dates worked around the school holidays if it means a couple more young blokes could attend.
cheers

No problem DHV, I'll organise all the administrivia for you lot. I'll also add a small administration fee of about $10,000 per person to go with it loldhv wrote:Aren't the guides supposed to take care of all this administrivia for us?

Re: 2015 BUFFATHON - Take 2
I am interested if there are any spots still available and I pass selection criteria. Probably drive or happy to share if anybody wants to.
