silent pellet trap
Does anyone know if it is possible to buy a silent pellet trap here in Aus?
Or have plans how to make one?

I use the good old beer carton stuffed full of newspapers and cardboard.
Properly packed in it will stop 24ftp .22 pellets.
I use it in my shed and I don't get any complaints from my neighbours,(Their kitchen window is 4 metres from my shed),so it is as near to silent as you can get.
Crack a few coldies and enjoy a quiet shot or two next day.
Cheers Ray.

Cheers Ray,
I'll do that.
I've stuffed my cardboard box with rags instead of folded newspapers and that is already much better. Haven't tried with the .22LR yet though.
Can't get enough of the AR. I'm so happy to have one again after waiting so long.
I think I'm being a little paranoid as my nearest neighbors are 150 meters away through trees!
I don't want them to know I am shooting up here but now I'm asking myself why I should care. I'm not breaking any laws.

I'm so cheap I am using medical tape which I had a few rolls of from having the tattoo.Predator wrote:yep, rags in box work great.
also, grab some duct tape and one of those huge paper clips (the ones for holding a whole lot of pages together) and tape it to the box. great way to hold printed targets.
That way I can move the targets up and down a little to make the eventual hole in the box a bit bigger.
Like the idea though. May go that way eventually.
I'm guessing I can rescrunch the rags and re-use for a while.
I "forgot how much more powerful the .22LR is and shot a few with that.
Oh dear. Lots of stuffing out the back!
Nice group though . Amazing how much easier it is to shoot than the 97.
Way less recoil.
