Re: Can anyone tell me is....
That's what I thought but I wanted to double check
The latest winter edition of varmint hunters has an article on the 20vt and he is using imr 8208 XBR. Up to 20 grs with the 32gr projectiles so my starting load of 17.5g was well below if that was the case. Might have to try a bit heavier load say around the 18.5- 19.5 gr range and see what sort of results I get.
Keep you posted.

Re: Can anyone tell me is....
Tried it today(yesterday) but with 18.8gr it is still only showing approx 3200fps with the 32gr vmax. Group was the best I have shot with the 20vt so far so is worth while persevering with me thinks.
Will try 19 up to 20 grs now- seems that I will need to fill the case to get reasonable velocities with it in the 20vt. 20 grs of 2207 will go close to filling the case so would be a compressed load.

Hey Elitesniper---- are you getting the same velocities using 8208 as you would with other powders? I know 8208 certainly helps accuracy wise.

Re: Can anyone tell me is....
From my observations so far,
The 8208 seems to be "softer" than the 2207, not as harsh, doesn't have the same push or crack as the others I've tried. I have been using it in my 204 with great results as well.
Very easy to get into the small cases as well. If I can get it to work then I would much prefer to use this but so saying that I bought the 2207 to use in the VT so better use that first.

I don't no what velocity I'm getting with the 8208 as I haven't bothered to chronograph my loads as of yet...what I do no is that for .223 my best loads are 24.7gr which is well below max and it thumps just as hard as if I was using either 2206h or 2208 powder,as for the .308 it doesn't fill the cartridge as much as the 2208.....cheers
