Howa Scope mounts

Any one know were i can get a one piece scope mount to fit a Howa 1500 .223

Pretty sure the Howa takes standard Remington bases mate so just about any gunshop should carry them. Leupold make them and also Lynx/Tasco/Hillver, probably a few other makers as well.

Don't think that will solve your scope mounting problem though mate, it is going to take an 'extended base' front mount which sits the ring back half an inch over the front of the ejection port but maybe you can find a one piece base that has two front mount slots. A bit ugly though - the extended base is the best way to go.

what about a picatinny rail system? that should allow the scope to be slid any where along the rail

Hi minivinne, yes a picatinny rail will solve your problem, shouldn't effect ejection as the howa's are very positive in that area.
Let's know how you go.
Hiwall is right about the rem bases i think, I read the same thing in a review somewhere.
Saw a rail on ebay @$31.00 plus postage If I remember rightly.

I know the 2 piece bases fit the howa, but i'm not sure if the action
length (between front and rear) is the same, you might want to
ask Shane.
