Today is the day Indecisive gets his first rifle! Thanks to KJD from Abelas's i am now the proud owner of a Howa 1500 in 243.
Big thanks to KJD for the brilliant rifle set up, its exactly what i was looking for plus more. I am very happy with it.
Another thanks to Buff Buster for the trip down to Abelas, Appreciate it mate!
Look forward to putting rounds down range next weekend

Future son in law just picked up a howa on Friday in 308. Brought it down to show me yesterday. I'd be happy to put it in my safe

Correct, but good quality muffs are a must as they are a little on the noisy side.

And if you want to change the balance of the rifle you can play around with adding weight inside the Hogue stock. I've got about 400gm of extra weight inside the butt, and another 80gm in the forearm of mine. I use it for centrefire silho, so I don't mind the extra half a kg for shooting offhand, and it quietens down the recoil a little as well (if you wish).
