HW97 mount question/help!
Edited my original post about the V-Mach kit to this, emailed V-Mach and waiting for a reply.
Been looking at scopes and mount today for the HW97. I have decided on a Bushnell XLT trophy 4-12x40 with DOA600 reticle. It has 1" tube, and is rated for springers as per their website. So now I need a mount.
What mount should I go for on the HW97? Also what height using the above scope? Where to get the mount from?
Cheers

Re: V-Mach kits
Hi AI,
Here is a link to a post I saw on another site (about a year old).
http://www.shooting.com.au/forum/index. ... ning-kits/
It discusses getting the kit in Australia.
It in turn has a link to the manufacturer.
http://www.air-rifle-tuning.com/v-mach/Home.html
Good luck,
regards, curan

Re: HW97 mount question/help!
You can order a kit from Jim Maccari and have it delivered here pretty quick in my experience.

As for mounts I have one of these on my Diana 350 Magnum and use the arrestor stud. Does not shift and the 350 is a fair kicker.

Got mine from Ramsbottoms in the UK, via eBay.

I think I still have some Sportsmatch mounts left in one and two piece I'm clearing out. Also have BKL 253 and 260 plus Hawkes.
If I can help out just let me know

No problem at all Scott!!!fenring wrote:Sorry Lewis.
I still have quite a pile of mounts from Sportsmatch BKL Hawke and B-Square in one and two piece left for HW FWB Diana and others.
Not much else other than slings and accessories plus springs seals and general parts.

Re: HW97 mount question/help!
Age old question, 177 or 22. Will be tuned hw97k and 4-12 bushnell xlt trophy with 600 doa reticle. Will do both hunting and targets. From what I read, the 22cal springers smoother?

I never really noticed much difference in an HW97. They were best in .20 I thought.Ackley Improved wrote:Age old question, 177 or 22. Will be tuned hw97k and 4-12 bushnell xlt trophy with 600 doa reticle. Will do both hunting and targets. From what I read, the 22cal springers smoother?

Re: HW97 mount question/help!
I'm a .22 fan in guns over about 10ft/lbs as I enjoy the larger pellets for plinking and they are less fiddly.
That said, for small game it's all about shot placement and with a brain shot or shot in the heart either calibre will do the job.

I agree on the fiddly pellets!!!!
This is exactly why I sold a lot of .20's in spring piston guns.
Most R1/R9/R10/RX/RX1/RX2 sold over here were .20's and so were most of the Theoben gas spring guns eg Eliminator/Crow Magnum,Taunus and Sirocco.
It's all different now I've gone of course.

I still find it hard to understand why .20 is not more popular in Australia, it really does give the best of both worlds. I'll never part with my Daystate PH6, it's a cracker of a gun. .

That was a cracker of a gun. Daystates were the first PCP's I sold.
