A Modified Offset Stock
A Modified Offset Stock
OK thought I would put up the pictures of my new stock that I got finished and painted yesterday.
Not the colour I was looking for however time is ticking and I need to get the gun together so I can run in and test for our first match which is the first weekend in Feburary ....... and this is all I had.
Although you can't see it in the photos as they were taken in the shade, this colour is a metallic black from the VE commodore range so it isn't just a flat black like young Jack likes
This is one of my new offset designs that I have modified as my own gun. I added one of the 6" wings I make and opened the barrel channel up to 41mm so that I can run a 1.5" tube on my new gun. All in all came out OK and I will post photos of the finished product maybe next weekend once I glue in the action.

Looks great al very impressive
Re: A Modified Offset Stock
Yeah it looks very good, I'm just sitting here at the moment working out which bits can be either cut off or drilled full of holes
Looking at it there are a couple of bits I could do without

Re: A Modified Offset Stock
Was also thinking that I should have had the ejection port extended a bit more..... The new action is just too heavy

That is awesome Alan!
Looks like it should track extremely well.
What action are you putting in it?

Nice work Al , with all those wings and fins you would have to call it The Glider.

Scary...
Now add a quad rail, muzzle brake, 'sniper' optics, and a huge magazine. That'll make the anti's scared.

Wow, echoes of Ben Lexan and his winged keel...
Re: A Modified Offset Stock
Ok Guys
Well finally got a bit of time to take some photos of the finished product. All in all pretty happy with the outcome and from the recent testing it is showing some very good promise as far as being a shooter. Will get to see how it goes in a match this coming weekend with our first matches for 2013 at 550 and 1000 yards.
Also ended up having to drill the stock out to get the rifle to weight although won't worry the way it runs on the bags or balance of the rifle I've just got a big hole in the paint work now . Also included a photo of the rear wings and how they set up on the rear bag.
