But I have to ask why I thought the stock that little rifle was in was very comfortable albeit a strange colour.

it was too short Andrew. very difficult to bring the scope to the right eye relief in a repeatable manner. plus i love thumbholes.

I will alert the member concerned to this thread. I am only reluctant to give public praise as he is flat chat already but then he can decide to officially launch or not!!

Looking good so far Trev, he will probably be inundated with calls to inlet Boyds stocks for CZs now that he has shown his tallents, there are a few blokes that would love to get them done.

Thats a Richards Microfit stock. They inlet for CZs. Though there was a little work with the inletting to make it fit well.

The member concerned was surprised to see this post, He has this really old fashioned idea that I should see it and test it and be happy with his work before praising him publicly. Thats a good sign.

I pick it up Wed on the way to the farm and will be back on Saturday or Sunday to report back.

The shooting conditions weren't terrific as the the front bag was too wide for the stock but it slid back beautifully and would have serious accuracy potential with a proper bench set up and bags to fit.

I think it looks awesome as well.

A big thanks to our own Ned Kelly (aka Geoff) who is now self employed and skilled at stock work. This thing came from Richards Microfit unfinished and I asked Geoff to finish it like a boyds stock finish. Its perfect.

Jason the only drawback with the flat forend is that the bipod slips and this is a spotlighting rifle. Thinking of bringing it back up to Geoff and getting a couple of grooves cut in so the bipod has something to bite on and not slide. Any other suggestions welcome as I would prefer not to mark it!
