(International Benchrest Shooters) records committer head, Kent Harshman has officially announced that Mike Gaizauskas has set three new 1000yd BR heavy Gun records during the 2012 season
10 Match Heavy Gun Group (5.6664 inches) old record was 6.0244
10 Match Heavy Gun Score (95.30) old record was 93.2
6 Match Heavy Gun Group (4.4935 inches) old record was 5.2865
His HG group was officially measured at 3.059" which is .015" over the existing record.
on behalf of australian IBS shooters, i reckon mike deserves a smiley for his efforts.
yeah, i don't think anyone would mind if a smiley was sent to the USA.
cheers

Hi DG,
I'm with you, send him a smiley, that's an awesome set of records. Might take us a little while here in Aus to catch up I think.

Re: New IBS 1000yd BR records.
jeff
when jeff green set 4 world records in 2010, he also received a smiley for his efforts and achievements.
although, no smiley's were achieved in australia this year, given, the increasing standards of our IBS 1000yd BR competitions, additional ranges joining our ranks, increasing participation levels, everyone gaining more experience in all facets of LRBR and a bit of help from the weather gods, it would not surprise if more than one smiley was achieved in australia during 2013.
as you and most others understand and appreciate, to be awarded a "screamer" by the IBS or our equivalent smiley ,is an extremely high and unique standard of GENUINE International 1000yd BR marksmanship that any Australian or American competitor, would and should be justly proud of!!!!!
if things improve and work out, a small convoy of us intend to head to townsville sometime in 2013.
(might have to pick up a hitch hiker from the hervey bay area on the way)
all the best for christmas
cheers

Re: New IBS 1000yd BR records.
dg,
Hope you and yours have a great xmas and an even better new year, especially that wife of yours. My never minds have turned up from the US, so hopefully I might get to earn a smiley myself. Shot a group just 2 thou off the range record last 500m, so we seem to think we might have the vertical beaten in the gun.
