know the 5mm well . i have never seen one but it was a bit before my time . the 5mm rem needs a reberth or maybe a new round using thinner brass & better modern projectiles . what is remington doing . instead of butchering marlins give us the best of both worlds when it comes to rimfire magnums .
They were reborn a few years back when a factory in Mexico started making ammunition for them.
It is still available, but no-one imports it to Australia.

It will come eventually. It will have to. Probably won't be for a few more years though.
Ever heard of a 5mm Remington Magnum? Check it out.
I knew it existed, It just isn't being chambered by any of the major manufacturers so I didn't mention it

The reason is that most rimfire actions are not strong enough to contain the pressure.
The little Remingtons designed for this cartridge can be rebarreled to things like the Hornet and the Bee. IMHO you could also have a crack at a 221 with the six oposed locking lugs. Think mini-788 and you are in the right area.
