"Extreme" bench rest shoot at 75 yards in USA last weekend.

Post by Yrrah »

This is the second year held.
There are 20 shots /200; 2 at each of ten bulls. The targets are ten m Olympic air pistol targets I understand.
Some of the trade big names attended. Daystates Tony Belas, BenTaylor now of Milbro (used to be Ben of Theo Ben), Fredrik Axelsson of FX , Terry Doe of UK (didn't shoot though), etc.

The big interest this year seemed to be the head to head of the new Daystate Wolverine .303 cal and the FX BOSS .30 cal both shooting JSB made pellets (different ones though),; side interest in Ben Taylor's Milbro Matesse etc.

Also a 25 m International shoot.

Results are hard to come by still but Fredrik Axelsson himself shot a factory FX BOSS rifle from Airguns of Arizona to a clear win with five shooters shooting three FX BOSS rifles for 5 of the first 9 places, 1 st, 4 th and 5 th, 8 th and 9 th. ( FX Smooth Twist barrels ).
First Daystate Wolverine .303 came 18th.
First Milbro Matisse 19 th.
The Daystate Airwolfs did well with equal 2 nd, 7 th and 11 th. A RAW TM 1000 was equal 2 nd ( don't know if it was a .177 like mine or a .22.
Ben Taylor was 25th with his Matisse.

Fredik Axelsson. owner and designer of all FX rifles put his and his rifle's reputations on the line and proved to be The Boss on the day with 177/200. Well done and congratulations Fredrik.

Scores for the 75 yd shoot here:

The target, 10m air pistol, seems to have an "X" of about 5 mm, 10 ring 11.5 mm 9 ring maybe 27.5 mm etc. Targets were scored in a manner to equalize the smaller calibres to the larger for fair comparison.

Thought this may interest some ....... Wish my FX Elite or BSA .25 was there :hunting: ...Kind regards, Harry.

Thanks for the info Harry. I'll be winding Ben up when I see him next, though I expect Mr Huggett has been doing it already across the factory floor. Pity its so damn far away from us. Looking forward to the movie from Ted.

I corrected the 9 ring measure.

Thank you very much for the kind offer. I should be able to get some here as there is a pistol club and I know a couple of members. I should be able to buy some through them. ... Kind regards, Harry.

Results of the 25 m International shoot conducted with the 75 yd comp: Fredrik did very well there too. Ben not so good. The first half dozen are good scores then it tails off ... Best regards, Harry.
