Hi Guys,
After chasing a major vertical problem for 7 months, it finally looks like I have it beat. Attached is a group from our last 500m shoot, weather was difficult, heats of mirage and twitchy winds, but I managed to shoot a 0.983, which is just shy of a range record for heavy gun. Looking forward to the new year, my secret bullets have arrived, the gun seems to be sorted, now just got to get the organic thingy at the back fixed up and I might have a chance at being competitive next season.

Nice work.
Isn't it lovely when you sort a problem and get a result like that.
cheers

Thanks Macca,
I would like to give a big thanks to TZ and Jeff Rogers for all their help. It has been driving us all mad, but now looks like we are on top of it. Now if I could just get it to do that 5 times on a fly target???

Fantastic result Jeff. What was the cause of the problem and how did you diagnose and solve it?

Hi Jason,
Turned out to be the stock. I have a self made one, using 25mm aluminium plate. It was too tall, and not recoiling properly, so it would jump at the muzzle, despite a total weight of 72 lbs. Fixed it by making it 150mm longer, going to a lower profile and reduced height. Now it just slides on the rests, without the initial jump.
