I have one for sale if you are interested. It is a Pro Cal one. Cost $800 odd when I got it. Has speed screw, and windage top. Really need $550 for it as it does not worry me if I sell it as I will use it in the field with the soon to be new varmint rifle

It is a quality rest, but I have changed to the coaxial type now.

Hi Damien,
mate Barry Edgley (sir name may be spelt wrong) make fantastic rests, a lot of the top benchrest shooters have or have used his rests.

There are many different types out there even ones with a joy stick opperation, however, some benchrest guys don't like them, they prefer the rests with knobs to wind on windage and elevation.

My advise is to look at as many as you can and spend time handeling them if possible as you will be paying good money for the better rests and you want one that suites you.

Pete.

$900 odd bucks will get you Seb Coaxial Rest. It is by far the best rest I have used and should have got it years agao! It is a joystick rest, and it is far better than the screw! This is my point of view! I'll take a picture of it today!

Damo,

jeez ya got plenty of choices there already :D

Just thought I would add a bit to the confusion

The top dollar types are designed for purpose built benchrest stocks that 'track' in the bags allowing fast shooting before a condition changes and I reckon if you don't have plans for this in the future, save your cash.

I have a mate who brought a Caldwell and it is probably better than the informal target stuff he uses it for. Price is pretty attractive too.

If I was just going to the range and shooting a hunting rifle or busting critters off a portable bench in the bush...if your handy I would make one :D

Check Qld Gn Exchange for the Remingtons (on special?) ; talk to Pete van Meurs (Pro-Cal) or any of the above posts; there's a lot of gear out there...

I too have searched high and low for a front rest and have settled on a SEB Rest myself and have one on order.

Is that the rest that my mate Sebastian from Indonesia designs and builds?? He is a brilliant 'engineer' builds his own rifles, makes his own stocks etc etc. Getting to be a pretty good shot as well!!!

Excellent, great to hear he is doing well. Pretty remarkable achievements for a guy from a country that doesn't seem to support the shooting sports at all - he has had to build all his own equipment as it is almost impossible even to import barrels for target rifles.
