.177 Kodiak Match pellets, anyone?
Does anyone have a surplus stash of .177 Kodiak Match (or Baracuda Match basically same) that they could part with. I have just acquired a .177 (yes the girly calibre!!!) BR Match quality rifle. I would like to try these pellets which shoot so well for the silhouette brigade. .... A response here of a private message would be appreciated. ....... Kind regards, Harry.

C'mon Harry. I reckon you already had a girly FWB300 just before we left the last decade, if I remember correctly.Yrrah wrote:,,,,,,, I have just acquired a .177 (yes the girly calibre!!!) .......
In fact I'm pretty sure, as it made me feel better about my "girly" hornet!
Point is, if I had the pellets your after, you would have them. But all I can offer are Beeman ramjets, JSB exacts, and JSB extras heavy exacts.
If these are any good to you, let me know.
cheers. curan

Thank you Curan. Yes the FWB 300S .177 is an incredible spring gun; possibly the most accurate spring powered air rifle ever made.curan wrote:C'mon Harry. Thanks, I have all the JSBs which all shoot well. The 7.9 Express seem to consistently shade the others presently but I have not shot them beyond 25m yet.
These are average 25 metre groups with some of them: Shot standing with front rested on a cupboard so should get better when proper bench gear is used.
The RAW TM 1000 S/N 0082 made in USA by Rapid Air Weapons in Tennessee. The Principal is Martin Rutterford who is also part owner of the Theoben Rapid Co in UK. Martin is a friend of Lewis. He makes everything for the rifle excepting the LW barrel.
If anyone else has some of the Kodiak Match or Baracuda Match in excess to needs I would be happy to buy.
The other pellet I would like to try is the Crosman Premier heavy 10.5? gr., and or light. So if you have those extra they would be welcome too. .... Kind regards, Harry.

You could try : http://ausarms.com.au/index.php
While they don't have them listed in the .177 section they have them in .22
Might we worth the call anyway to see if they have any in .177
They also list the Crosman premiers in .22

Thanks Chris, I'll chase that lead up on Monday; I was unaware of Acme's existence.uncakikki wrote:Harry,

Chris
Lewis may have located a sample . Mark (Hornetboy) has found a few for me. Neil (Stillair) in UK has offered to send a sample of Crosman Premiers, but I hesitate to put Neil to that trouble.
How good it is to have our mates so willing to help us out. .... Best regards, Harry.

Re: .177 Kodiak Match pellets, anyone?
Many thanks to all the good folk who tried/or helped me here.
I followed up on the Acme Firearms lead ( thanks Chris ) and now have a tin each of Baracuda Match pellets in 4 head sizes. We will see how they perform in the RAW TM 1000 in comparison to the JSB stable. ... I even received a precious little sample of a dozen or so Crosman Premiers in each of two weights, 10.5 and 7.9 gr from an obliging shooter in northern NSW. They will be kept for a trial on a nice calm day.
Special thanks to Lewis, Mark Worrad, Paul Breeze, Gavin McDonald, Curan, John Harrison of Uralla Sports and Toys, Klaus of Acme Firearms; and to Neil ( Stillair 1 ) who kindly offered to send pellets all the way from UK if needed.
What a great lot of fellows you all are here.
I'll give a report on the rifle's performance when I have been able to thoroughly test it but it is certainly a quality arm. I have now adjusted the trigger from a genuine two stage pull down to just a "glass snap" 7.9 ounces. ... It can stay there for a while.
Kind regards to all, ... Harry.
