It is weird Flip

I had two parcels sent on the same day, prob similar in shape weight etc. One arrived today which the tracking agreed with but the other is apparently still stuck in Chicago so not sure what is happening but figure they are busy. Lets hope that's all it is as I need both parcels.

Well it finally got to me. When I got back to the office late this arvo. I was told it was there at 9:30am. While I was out on site I got an email from usps telling me that the parcel had arrived to aus post on the 8th of August. So it must of been sitting in customs or in transit for the time inbetween.

No matter got it now. Just a bit inpatient

Will strap it to the air rifle to see if it works with it.

Glen

Someone probably labeled it Victoria but not Australia or didn't mark it clearly
and so it gets sent to Canada.

Today I put a few rounds through the Magneto Speed.

Rifle is a Remmy with Heavy barrel 26’’. In an AIC stock.

Load was 175 Sierra with 2208, at a supposed speed of 2650. That was with the Chrony a few years back. With the MS I clocked 2616 fps average. High was 2632, Low was 2609.
I will redo this with the Oelher, just to double check.

This was done at 300 Yards. I noticed a group shift of 2 ½’’ high with the MS on. The group did not grow in size with the MS on, it stayed consistent with the other group w/o the MS on.

With the same setting I shot .22 Winchester Power Points. They did not register any shots.
Changed the setting to 22/Shot/Slug, all the shots registered except for # 7 where the round went PPFFFT, dud round. High was 1221, Low was 1142, average, 1187.
Next time I go out I’ll take some match .22 and play with the threshold and see how they go.

As for set up, piss easy.

Do you guys have any further updates on the Magnospeed

a) How does it setup
b) can you download the info to a computer
c) does it give you SD and Es values
d) How many strings and how many shots in a string
e) FALSE readings is it better than the CED 2

I have a first generation unit -

A) it straps to,the barrel with a rubber spacer with no issues provided you get it nice and tight.
B) yes, by removing the micro SD card and inserting it in the supplied SD card adapter and then into my laptop, I can manipulate the csv files created by the unit
C) yes, it generates both but you have to choose which one to display.
D) limited only by the size of the SD card - so basically unlimited
E) i have had one failure to read in several hundred shots, which is much more reliable than my CED2.

There is a small point of aim change and on a sporter weight barrel the chrono acts like a tuner and improves accuracy so the concept isn't without down-sides but overall it is worth it for the convenience and reliability.
