Me and the wife are staying at Canoelands on the Hawksbury River in the first week of Sept.
Going to take the tinny. What am I best off targeting this time of year? Any tips for fishing this river would be great as I've never fished there before!

Re: Fishing the Hawksbury.
From watching a few AFC dvd's my memory seems to recall alot of people fishing pittwater a fair bit for bream. But they also went up the hawksbury river and fished alot of the oyster leases. Plenty of big bream around them. Looking on google its such a huge system no wonder they use boats that run in excess of 110kph over there. To cover that expanse of water in a 7hr tournament is going to need alot of speed!

i have never fished it but My suggestion would be to anchor close in to oyster leases and cast so your bait/lure is under or really close to the racks.Drift the shallows for flatties just remember to keep the sinker sizes to a minimum just enough lead to get it to the bottom not anchor it there.
