Ive just bought some 125gn SP proji's for the .308, which are only a bit over half the length of the 165gn ones that ive loaded up. The 165 gn have been seated to just fit snugly in the mag and shoot real well, I just pressed a dummy round with the 125gn and the seating depth turned out to be only about 1 or 2mm, with me being able to pull it out of the case. What would be a reasonable and safe depth to seat these bullets? Someone suggested seating them at the bullet diameter ie. .308.
Or should I try another brand that might be a little longer?
G'day Model 70; yep, they're a stumpy little thing, but seem to go ok when seated off the lands. Try starting as you have had suggested to you and play with them, both in and out by a half turn on the seating stem.
the WOOB
No worries woobi, i ended up buying some coz i was going to the range today with one of the fellas, as it turned out he got on the cans lastnight and was too hung over , but made me cranky because I got up extra early to load some up for testing. He reckons hes still crook, suck shit.
