Col.Pogy,

I have to agree I had a Brno 22 mag that shot 12mm 5 shot groups but only with 1 particular brand and type of ammo. A bit of experimentation makes a lot of difference.

cheers

I saw a Martini at a Penrith gun show fitted with a Lithgow barrel chambered in 22Mag, done by a gunsmith called George (he didn't have a surname on his card but is often at shows).

It is well known that the CZ 22 rimfires and I think personally the CZ 222 I have, have very tight bores. My cleaning rod fit tells me so. That being said, many have noted better 22 LR results with unplated bullets and also a rifles' preference for soft or hard bullet lube, or for subsonic or for standard or for high velocity ammo. What's to do? I set a limit of 3$ and change per box of 50 lr as a figure I wont exceed. My 22 shooting is in the field or for pleasure at 50 yards on a club bench with a hunting rifle. My favotite is a Winnie 310, which as you know is an Australian gun. Dad's old un serialed 1946 Marlin is a shooter too. I almost never pass a brick of 22 lr at my price and have a nice stock of a variety to "test" with should a new gun come my way. Stranger things have happened. pogy

Hi Jeff 8 that is exactly what I was getting at, maybe a slightly undersize bore could help out in the accuracy department
Cheers
