Here is my shooting rest I made for my Navara.
Works well.
One of the major problems I used to have was where to put the guns in the car.
After trying lots of different thing we ended up with this. Works real well.
Will post some in use photo's tomorrow.

I had to make it lower than the mirror because of my stocks.Works well.

Love your shooting rest. Top idea.
Great minds think alike on the gun holder. Mine sits in the same spot

You get the credit for the shooting rest Andrew!
I seen the post about yours and ordered the mirror extensions the next day!
After some head scratching this is what I came with.
I like your rest mate!
Great idea!
Your Ranga is very very

Quite often on nice evenings we park up overlooking a warren. Removable bench is 300x20mm pine plank with a full length 100x25mm jarrah gusset screwed vertically under it, you can just see it underneath, bolted to the tray and very rigid. Pretty agricultural but works fine, for those with rifle bolts on the incorrect side the ute will need turning around

Frakka that's a good set up. Do you have an armchair to sit in while shooting?

I made the decision to practise more.
Problem is, I seem to spend all my spare time at the range...

OT: Glenn is that a pierce action on the bottom rifle? If so how do you rate it?

Hi Brad,
It is a Maddco action.
It has a dual port so it is not real good for our purpose.
Would make a good BR action for bench work but out of the car it cam be a bit of an issue.
Down the track it will be replaced with a Pierce Multi-Flat RHB/LHP.
I am keen to have a look at one too.
I will be getting a round Pierce soon for my 300WM hunting rifle I am building.

Re: What have you made to make your hunting better?
i made the same type of thing a while ago,i used a draw with carpet covered holders.
found i needed 2 different sizes for the butts so i made an extra end.
i have right angle screw-in type hooks to hold the cleaning rod but never/havent got around to partition it like yours.

Re: What have you made to make your hunting better?
This is my Homemade shooting rest, it's simple in design but very effective when it comes to shooting from a vehicle. It's fully adjustable, installs in seconds, rolls up and can be put into a pocket, is fully flexible in that you can follow game easily whilst on the run, It holds the rifle off the door frame so no damage to stock or door etc, it also allows the spotlight hand to control the spotlight without having to worry about controlling the rifle (rifle just hangs there) you can wind windows up on cold winter nights (just remove rifle).
I've trialed it a while back from distances from around 60m out to 200m+ on anything from hares to foxes and none survived.
This is a pic of the strap attached to the Versapod Spigot.
Front View.
The Strap - its fully adjustable for height etc.
The loop end with buckle to facilitate easy installation and removal from door/Window frame or Grab handle above door.
Pic of how it looks whilst hanging.
