when I had my 204 built I used the rem bottom metal and got Shane to take the spacer out of the box so I could seat pills out further. It means the spring flops around and feeding is erratic. It really needs DBM and magazine. I was warned but the funds did not permit the dbm at that time
There are many brands. What offers good value but isnt crap and where do get the best deal?
cheers

Re: DBM
Hi Trevort
Lumley is the way to go unless you are worried about weight, in which case the Badger m5 is recognised as the benchmark of the alloy ones, but expensive.
GregT did a great job of inletting my HS stock for the Lumley. Only took him a couple of weeks to get around to it. I paid him $80 for the work. You would need to confirm current rates with him.
AI 223 mags are about $80. You won't fit 10 204s in there - they only fit 9 of that case apparently.
I haven't had the cash to actually buy the DBM yet, but hope to soon, because I am redeploying the Manners stock onto my new Pierce actioned 6x47 Lapua, and need to throw the 223 back into the HS.
Cheers, Jason

Trevor
Check out the DBM that Pacific Tool and Gauge does. I recently bought the SA model - $129 plus shipping. Accepts AI mags. Just be aware that it protrudes from the bottom of the rifle ie not flush and needs inletting. Also PTG service has been crap lately.
