"Red mist" at 50 yards ........ GRAPHIC ...

Post by Yrrah »

No it wasn't baited ... just took a chance and landed on my target..... bad mistake.

The FX Elite is shooting VERY well with its spare barrel in .22 cal. Surprisingly it seems to be shooting best at 930 t0 940 fps 35 fpe with 18.1 gr Exacts. I haven't quite worked out why as yet.

Here's a group shot in a stiff left to right wind holding well off to the left of the ram, 5 shots.

71 yards:

I understand that the second generation of the FX Elites will have a new stock and a new match trigger.

Best regards, Yrrah.

Can't argue with that sort of accuracy and consistency.
Would you say the .22 had the edge over the .25 barrel?
Might have to call it the FX "mortein" after that first pic!

No, I think they are pretty much the same when using the best pellet for each, 25.4 gr Exact Kings for the .25 and 18.1 gr Exacts for the .22, Ian.

A 71 yard target ( bottom group ) from the .25 barrel for comparison in good conditions . JSB Kings at 890 fps.

The top group was shot with a different rifle.
